Having attended the regional dialogue on climate action in Tralee today I thought to share this post from 2016. I’m still saying government needs to convene a meeting of all head office officials of bodies with branches in communities throughout Ireland – GAA, Scouts, ICA, IFA, Church, Tidy Towns, Foroige, FAI etc etc. Then compel the branches to invite someone who can engage their members on climate action to their AGM, event, meeting, whatever to encourage collaboration on climate action locally. That and engage a climate action coordinator in every local authority while funding existing climate action initiatives would fairly get things moving.
Here is a link to my video recorded report from the day.
